A Saudi court sentenced a local man to three days in prison and ordered him lashed 30 times after he was found guilty of biting his wife.
The woman took her husband to court in the capital Riyadh after a medical report showed she needed treatment for one month.
Sada newspaper quoted the husband as telling court he was in a “fury mood” and did not know why he assaulted his wife.
“The judge told him that he violated social and religious rules and decided to sentence him,” the paper said.
