Marka expands hospitality portfolio

Marka, the first public joint stock retail operator in the UAE, is expanding its hospitality portfolio in partnership with Hearst Magazines International, with a second launch of the popular Harper’s Bazaar Café located at City Walk Dubai.

The latest addition to a portfolio that includes a number of popular  brands, the café is part of a line-up of acquisitions, home-grown concepts and franchising agreements from across the region.

Nick Peel, CEO of Marka, said: “The Harper’s Bazaar Café is an exciting addition to Dubai’s luxury dining and hospitality landscape, offering a mix of fashion and food in an elegant setting. Harper’s Bazaar represents the epitome of style and sophistication, and the café brings the brand to life, providing an ideal hub for Dubai’s fashionable residents and visitors, and a lively centrepiece of Marka’s hospitality business.”

“The café is a truly immersive experience, reflecting Bazaar’s timeless chic on every level, from the décor, to the menu, to the polished presentation,” Adam Cooper, Hearst Magazines International publisher and global licensing director, said.

Hesham Almekkawi, managing director of Marka Hospitality, said: “Dubai’s second location for Harper’s Bazaar Café follows a successful opening earlier this year in d3. We are proud to open this new café at CITY WALK, which forms a key part of our UAE expansion plans. The new location complements the Harper’s Bazaar Café brand perfectly, and we are confident that it too will be a success.”
