A European who raped a woman in Dubai made the mistake of his life when he stole her mobile phone and used it later, allowing police to locate him.
The man, a clerk, raped the woman of the same nationality and stole her bag, which contained her mobile phone and other personal items.
Police identified the man and located his whereabouts after he started to use the woman’s mobile phone, by using his own registered SIM card.
“Police managed to locate the man through the woman’s mobile phone…He was arrested as he tried to fly out of the emirate,” Al Bayan said, adding that DNA tests presented in court showed the man raped that woman.
