UAE leaders congratulate Indian Premier Modi on historic mandate

DUBAI 25 May 2019: President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a cable to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, congratulating him on his party general elections victory.

Similar greetings were dispatched to the Indian prime minister by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

“Congratulations Narendra Modi and the people of India upon your election win. We look forward to advancing our strategic bilateral relationships further and working together for the progress and prosperity of our people,” said Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid.

ABU DHABI 24 May 2019: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has congratulated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his second-term election win.

His Highness congratulated the Prime Minister and the BJP on the elections win over the telephone, wishing Modi success in serving his nation.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed expressed his keenness to enhance cooperation and to advance UAE-India relations further. He also wished the Indian government and people further progress and prosperity, said Wam.

For his part, the Indian Prime Minister expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness for the congratulatory call and kind gesture, adding that he hoped to advance bilateral ties between the two countries further. Modi also wished the UAE government and people continued growth and development.

Historic Mandate

Modi has won a ‘historic mandate’ with a landslide majority win for the second term. The BJP is projected to get 300+ seats in the 543 seat Indian parliament.

Rahul Gandhi, leader of the opposition Congress party has admitted defeat and congratulated Modi.
