DUBAI May 6 2018: The Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended the 2000 Guineas Stakes – the first English Classic of the racing season – on the Rowley Mile track at Newmarket.
Kicking off the Spring Lodge Stakes opening race, Godolphin’s Oasis Charm managed to steal the show leaving Sharja Bridge in second. Later on, the 2000 Guineas Stakes main race saw Godolphin’s Masar land in third place.
The Hot Streak Handicap promised Godolphin yet more luck as Tribal Quest prevailed, leaving the second place to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan’s Prestbury Park. Godolphin continued achievements at Havana Gold Newmarket Stakes where Key Victory, Old Persian, and Highbrow came in first, second, and third respectively.
Wrapping up the first English Classic, Godolphin’s Symbolization won the Racing Welfare Handicap round.
Accompanying Sheikh Mohammed to the race were the Dubai Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance His Highness Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum HRH Princess Haya bint Al Hussein.
