1.67 million people vaccinated in the UAE

ABU DHABI 12 January 2021: The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced that 80,683 more people have received the coronavirus vaccine, bringing the total number of jabs taken so far to 1,167,251, at 11.8 doses per 100 people.

This is in line with the ministry’s plan to provide the Covid-19 vaccine and in an effort to achieve herd immunity, which will help reduce the number of cases and control the virus.

2,404 new cases, 2,454 recoveries, and 3 deaths

MoHAP also conducted 133,458 additional tests and announced 2,404 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 232,982.

According to the Ministry, the infected individuals are from various nationalities, are in a stable condition, and receiving the necessary care, said Wam.

MoHAP also announced three deaths due to Covid-19 complications, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 711.

The ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and wished patients a speedy and full recovery. It called on all members of the society to cooperate with health authorities, adhere to the instructions and physical distance to ensure the health and safety of all.

MoHAP also noted that an additional 2,454 individuals had fully recovered from Covid-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 208,366 carry out the necessary treatment.
