Mysterious alien missile spotted on moon?

Photo may be inadvertently taken by US astronauts in 1969

Nasa astronauts Neil Armstrong or Buzz Aldrin may have inadvertently taken a picture of a UFO landing on the lunar surface.

Some conspiracy theorists have gone as far as saying the object captured in the above picture of the moon is an ‘alien missile’.

The picture is believed to have been taken on July 20, 1969 during the Apollo 11 mission to the moon, according to the UK Daily Mirror newspaper.

It was featured in a YouTube video on the Paranornal Crucible channel – a common destination for bizarre conspiracy theories and supposed UFO sightings.

The video was posted earlier this month and has already notched up over 100,000 views.

“Bizarre image from the Apollo archives which appears to show a missile type UFO cruising across the moon,” reads the explanation under the video.

“Could Nasa be bombing alien installations on the lunar surface, possibly using high tech ships from the secret space program. Very odd object, not convinced it’s an alien craft, more likely something we launched, but at who and why.”

While some viewers suggest the strange mark in the photo is a missile from Nasa, others say it is actually a weapon used by an alien race.

The small dark object appears to have a lighter trail stretching out behind it – which some have taken to be a contrail or plume from an alien-built engine.

Alternatively, it could be a strange mark on the lens of the camera or just a rocky scar on the face of the moon.

Nasa hasn’t made any comments on the image, but several viewers have pointed out that it could all just be another hoax.
