New Year Festivities: No crashes, no deaths

DUBAI 3 January 2019: The Dubai Police General HQ has reported accident-free celebrations across the emirate during New Year’s Eve 2020.

More than 2 million people enjoyed spectacular fireworks display and safe events with well-organized security procedures in different locations.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, extended his thanks to everyone via his twitter account and said: “Dubai celebrated the arrival of the world in 2020…More than two million people celebrated on the streets of Dubai. About a billion people also saw their celebrations. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the organization, the transportation, the protection, the media, and the provision of safety for all. Thanks to the Dubai team.”

Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri hailed the efforts of the Events Security Committee and its high level of professional performance, which resulted in facilitating the reveler crowds’ pedestrian and road traffics without causing any accidents or fatalities.
