No hike in premium for basic insurance holders found with Cancer or Hepatitis C

Dubai Municipality plans fees and fines on waste disposal

DUBAI xx April 2017: Basic health insurance holders will not have to pay higher premiums if found with Cancer or Hepatitis C during early detection, according to a strategic initiative discussed by the Dubai Executive Council.

The council was also updated about Dubai Municipality’s plan to impose fees and fine on waste disposal.

The Executive Council meeting at Emirates Tower on Thursday was chaired by Shekh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, in the presence of Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chief Executive of Emirates Group Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum.

The meeting reviewed various topics and projects, and heard from Abdullah Al Rumaithi from Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects, who briefed the council about the strategy that aims at boosting logistics’ competitiveness of the aviation and maritime sectors in Dubai.

The strategy to address weaknesses and debottleneck the logistic sector in Dubai.

The council was also briefed about the progress of implementing health insurance system in Dubai, and the new strategic initiatives that aims to include early detection of cancer for holder of basic insurance package, and hepatitis C without increasing the premiums.
