No more overhead electrical wires in Sharjah: Sewa

Replaces electrical transmission lines with ground cables

SHARJAH 4 May 2019: The Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (Sewa), has announced the removal of all  electrical overhead transmission lines and wires of low pressure 420 KVA, that feed the areas of the Authority’s Central Region, replacing it with ground power cables at a cost of over Dh30 million.

The Authority has also stopped 1000 electrical columns for high-pressure lines 33 KVA, is in line with Sewa’s strategy to enhance the efficiency of power grids, said Wam.

Rashid Al Leem, Chairman of Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority, said that the authority continues to implement maintenance and development projects in the region.
