Pakistan crush India to lift maiden ICC Champions Trophy

Pakistan batting and bowling were superb on the day

LONDON 19 June 2017: Captain Sarfaraz Khan led Pakistan ot its maiden ICC Champions Trophy with a crushing 180-run win over arch-rivals and hot favourites India.

India – with a weak bowling side, but a phenomenal batting line-up giving hem a reputation as chasers – won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat at the Oval.

Pakistan tenacity and India’s weak bowling helped Paksiatn amass 338 for four in their allotted 50 overs.

Commentators were still rooting for the favourites when openers Indian Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan walked in. Rohit was soon out to be soon followed by his skipper Virat Kohli.

Apart from Pandya, Indian batsmen gwilted on a penetratingly sharp Pakistani bowling attack.
