DUBAI: They say rules are made by kings but are not for kings – but in Dubai and the UAE – it is very different.
One of the things that has made this country great – is the rule of law.
On the weekend, the monarch of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, went on a pedestrian tour of the recently-opened City Walk in Dubai.
Much to the astonishment and respect of both pedestrians and drivers, the Ruler of Dubai stopped at a traffic light and waited for it to turn green before continuing on his tour.
His entire entourage waited with him.
