Saudi caught with 1 million drugs pills… claimed it was for personal use

DUBAI 6 May 2017: A Saudi allegedly possessed for promotional purpose 1.021 million of captagon tablets in his house in Ajman, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

Dubai Police Antic Narcotics department received information about HM, possesses and sells drug tablets to addicts.

An arrest and search permission was obtained from Dubai Prosecution after verifying the information.

On January 30 at around 7pm, officers coordinated with Ajman Police and headed to Ajman and waited at his accommodation at Al Muweihat area.

“We saw HM getting out of his house and taking a taxi. We stopped the taxi and arrested HM. Searching him we confiscated 237 captagon tablets in a bag wrapped with tissue papers,” testified Major Yaser Saeed.

HM, 37, visitor, claimed possessing these tablets for personal use.

However, he admitted to possessing a large quantity of drug tablets in his house.

HM guided police officers to a room where he keeps a number of luggage bags which contained a total of 1,021,808 captagon tablets.

He told the officers that he had collected the drugs from Dubai.

“A man called Abu Khalid called me from Saudi Arabia and asked me to collect a car parked at Al Ghurair City in Dubai. I went there and drove the car which contained drug tablets,” the accused told investigators.

HM was also under the influence of drugs when was arrested.

The court will reconvene on May 14.
