Covid test cost cut to Dh250 per person in Dubai

DUBAI 14 September 2020: The Dubai Health Authority (DHA), has announced that it has reduced the cost of Covid-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), tests to Dh250, making it more accessible to the public and encourage proactive medical examinations as a precautionary and preventive measure.

Test is free of charge for those suspected to have contracted the virus and for vulnerable groups. Others UAE-wide are charged Dh370 per person. Fujairah is providing the test for free to citizens and residents.

In a statement, the authority said that it will spare no effort to combat Covid-19 to ensure the safety of society and the health of its members, said official news agency Wam.

640 new  cases, 468 recoveries, no deaths

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHaP), announced on Sunday that it conducted 84,642 additional Covid-19 tests over the past 24 hours.

MoHaP announced 640 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of cases in the UAE to 79,489.

MoHaP also noted an additional 468 individuals had fully recovered from Covid-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 69,451.

The ministry added that no Covid-19-related deaths have been recorded in the past 24 hours.
