
DUBAI 10 August 2018: One of the longest, and, heaviest trains in the world, with trains up to 3 kilometers (1.8 mi) in length, the Mauritania Railway has been transporting iron ore across the blistering heat of the Sahara Desert for 55 years.
Opened in 1963 the Mauritania Railway is 692-kilometre (430 mi) railway line running from runs from the mining center of Zouerat to the port city of Nouadhibou on Africa’s Atlantic coast. The train is the backbone of the Mauritanian economy and provides a line to the outside world for those who live along its route
