ABU DHABI 25 June 2017: Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has condemned in the strongest terms the heinous terrorist crime that has targeted the Al-Masjid Al Haram (Grand Mosque) in the holy city of Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

He emphasised that the UAE backs and stands in full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, said Wam.

“This heinous crime exposes the extent of terrorism and the savagery of those terrorist groups, and no one in their right mind can justify or explain it,” Sheikh Abdullah stated.

Hailing the vigilance and efficiency of the Saudi security services that nipped this heinous crime in the bud before its evil could reach the Al Masjid Al Haram, he highlighted that every Muslim in the world praises what the Kingdom, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, is doing to serve Islam and Muslims and spread love and tolerance among all peoples of the world.

“This heinous crime will make us even more formidable and determined to eliminate terrorism and eradicate its sources along with all those who finance, incite, sympathise with, or justify it in any manner whatsoever,” Sheikh Abdullah further said.

Bahrain condemns terror plot targeting Makkah Grand Mosque security

MANAMA: Bahrain has condemned in the strongest terms the vicious terrorist plot that targeted the security of the Grand Mosque in Makkah as well as worshipers, stressing that the despicable act of terrorism is contrary to all religious, moral and humanitarian values.

In a statement, Bahrain expressed its sincere appreciation of the great role of Saudi Arabia under the wise leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in providing all the comforts and tranquillity for worshippers, visitors and pilgrims, according to the Bahrain News Agency.

It also lauded the outstanding efforts of the security personnel in thwarting the cowardly terror plot, and affirmed that it stands fully with Saudi Arabia in its leadership role to consolidate and enhance security and peace in the region and across the world.

Bahrain said that it also fully supports all the actions and measures by Saudi Arabia to eliminate terrorist organisations.

It reiterated its firm position in rejecting terrorism and stressed the need for closer international cooperation to eliminate the phenomenon that threatens all nations and peoples without discrimination and to rid the world of the serious scourge and all those who support and finance it.

Kuwait supports all measures taken by Saudi Arabia

KUWAIT: An official source at the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry has expressed Kuwait’s strong condemnation of the despicable terrorist plot which targeted the Grand Mosque of Mecca.

In a press statement, the source described that the plot as a blatant aggression against Muslim sanctities and a provocation to Muslim feelings, according to Kuwait News Agency.

The source affirmed Kuwait’s support to all measures taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to maintain its security and stability.

The source also lauded the Saudi security’s success in foiling the terrorist attack and hailed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to confront terrorism and serving Muslim pilgrims and worshipers.

Al Azhar Al Sharif condemns terror plot on Grand Mosque

CAIRO: Al Azhar Al Sharif has strongly condemned the terror plot targeting the Grand Mosque in the Muslim holy city of Makkah.

In a statement, Al Azhar affirmed its categorical rejection of this criminal and malicious act on the Muslim faith’s most sacred place, endangering the safety and security of pilgrims. It stressed that the perpetrators did not represent Islam or its beliefs.

Al Azhar emphasised its firm support and standing with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to combat terrorism and extremism.

Al Azhar praised the readiness of the Saudi security forces, which succeeded in thwarting this criminal attempt.

Council of Muslim Elders backs Saudi Arabia

ABU DHABI: The Muslim Council of Elders, chaired by Grand Imam Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Al Tayeb, Sheikh of Al Azhar, has condemned the failed terrorist plot that targeted the security of the Grand Mosque in Makkah as well as worshipers.

In a statement on Saturday, the council emphasised “its absolute rejection of such plots aimed at undermining the security and destabilising the country in malicious acts being perpetrated by terrorist groups, that aim to create chaos in the Arab region and the Middle East.”

“No moral or religious conscience to target the Grand Mosque of Makkah during blessed nights of the holy month of Ramadan,” it added.

The statement also lauded the remarkable vigilance shown by the Saudi security forces in thwarting this failed attempt in a pre-emptive strike.

It announced its full solidarity with the Saudi Arabia’s king, people, and government, in all necessary measures taken to combat, uproot and counter the forces of darkness.
