UAE group unveils new novel ‘Antara’ at Comic Con

SHARJAH 7 April 2018: Comics – an imprint of Kalimat Group – released Antara, its first Arabic original graphic novel at the Middle East Film and Comic Con (MEFCC) 2018,

The seventh edition of MEFCC was opened by Mona Al Marri, Director General of the Dubai Government Media Office on 5th April at the Dubai World Trade Centre. It ends today.

Comics is also promoting eight other titles, which were earlier released at the Sharjah International Book Fair 2017 and the Paris Book Fair 2018.

These include Arabic translations of Baddawi, Heart and Brain, Anya’s Ghost, Username: Evie, Shadow Hero, Friends with Boys, Pyongyang and The Little Prince.

Comics, which was launched last year by Kalimat Group, specialises in publishing various kinds of comics in Arabic.

It aims to introduce Arabic readers to the world of comics and offer a wide range of options for comic book lovers. It also translates famous foreign language comics into Arabic to make them available for the regional language readers.

MEFCC is a three-day festival of regional and international entertainment culture in Dubai including some of the world’s biggest celebrities and brands in film, TV, science-fiction, anime, manga, comics, collectibles and more.
