UAE reimposes travel ban to Lebanon

ABU DHABI 19 October 2019: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC), has warned UAE citizens against travelling to Lebanon until further notice due to recent security developments.

Khalid Belhoul, MoFAIC Under-Secretary, has advised Emirati citizens currently in Lebanon to contact the UAE Embassy in Beirut to arrange for their safe return home.

UAE lifts travel ban on Lebanon

Mofaic had lifted the ban on Emirati citizens travelling to Lebanon, with effect from 8th October, 2019.

Khalid Balhoul, the Ministry’s Under-Secretary, said the decision came following an extensive follow up by the Ministry to the border security and after obtaining related guarantees from the Lebanese Government.

“The decision to lift the travel ban emanates from the keenness to strengthen UAE’s fraternal relations with the Lebanese Republic,” he added.
