13% of UAE population get vaccine against covid

ABU DHABI 13 January 2021: The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced that 108,401 more people have received the coronavirus vaccine, bringing to 1,275,652 the total number of jabs taken so far across the nation, at 12.9 doses per 100 people.

MoHAP and health authorities have recently launched a national campaign to encourage people to get vaccinated, especially the elderly, and those with chronic diseases.

3,243 new cases, 2,195 recoveries, and 6 deaths

MoHAP conducted 151,480 additional tests and announced 3,243 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 236,225.

According to the Ministry, the infected individuals are from various nationalities, are in a stable condition, and receiving the necessary care.

‏MoHAP also announced 6 deaths due to Covid-19 complications, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 717, said Wam.

‏The Ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and wished Covid-19 patients a speedy and full recovery. It called on all members of the society to cooperate with health authorities, adhere to the instructions and physical distance to ensure the health and safety of all.

‏MoHAP also noted that an additional 2,195 individuals had fully recovered from Covid-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 210,561 carry out the necessary treatment.
