Ministry of Health and Prevention opens mobile clinic at Al Muhaisnah

DUBAI 20 June 2017: The Ministry of Health and Prevention has opened a mobile clinic at Al Muhaisnah Health Centre to help people stop smoking in line with the National Tobacco Control Programme implemented under the theme ‘I quit and now it is your turn.’

From Al Muhaisnah Health Centre, the mobile clinic will move to Mirdif City Centre where it will stay until June 22, 2017.

Dr. Hussein Abdel-Rahman Al Rand, the Ministry’s Assistant Undersecretary for Health Centres and Clinics Sector, led the opening of the mobile clinic in a ceremony held at the centre, which was also attended by Nasser Khalifa Al Budour, Director of Dubai Medical District, and Dr. Wedad Al Maidoor, Director of Dubai Health Authority’s Primary Health Care, said Wam.

Dr. Al Rand said that the Ministry’s latest move forms part of the Al-Khair Clinics’ efforts and in response to the World No Tobacco Day celebration. The launch also reflects the Ministry’s bid to provide state-of-the-art and world-class health facilities, in addition to encouraging the public to adopt a healthy lifestyle to prevent diseases, especially those associated with smoking. The mobile clinic will reach wider segments of society to raise awareness on the dangers of smoking, a major cause of lung cancer that kills millions of people worldwide.
