SHARJAH 13 September 2018: The stage is set for the exciting finale of City Centre Sharjah’s popular Back-to-School competition WhizQuiz on September 14.
After winning against 18 other teams with their knowledge, speed and teamwork, six families will compete for bragging rights and the grand prize of an Dh3,000 Mall GiftCard in the finale.
WhizQuiz is part of City Centre Sharjah’s effort to bring innovative knowledge-based challenges for the entire family every summer. After the huge success of its Spelling Bee competitions – starting with a kids challenge in 2016 and then mom and kids team games last year – this year, the mall has stepped up the fun factor and stakes with a more sophisticated game show that involves the entire family.
Shoppers at City Centre Sharjah were given the opportunity to register their family members in the knowledge-based contest during the campaign. After winning preliminary rounds, 24 families progressed to the qualifying and semi-final rounds, which were held from September 6 until 8.
Parents and children were put through their paces in the first two buzzer rounds with questions on mental maths and general knowledge. The third round sealed their fate for the finals as each team was given four chances to guess the most popular answer to commonly asked questions that will flash across their screens.
Six teams will now have a chance to prove that they are the smartest family in the finals on September 14.
An emcee will create an enticing atmosphere for the participants by pepping them up with lively interaction during the quiz while also giving the audience gathered to cheer the teams a chance to win exciting prizes on the spot. The winning team walks away with an Dh3,000 Mall GiftCard; first runner-up with Dh2,000 Mall GiftCard and second runner-up with Dh1,000 Mall GiftCard.
