Bank account in Saudi stolen from New York

Man says he has never visited NY

A Saudi man got a shock when he received a message from his bank in the Gulf kingdom saying he had withdrawn funds from his account through the cash machine.

Adel Al Anzi was told that the funds had been withdrawn in New York although he had never been to that city.

Sabq newspaper said the unnamed bank told Anzi that he withdrew SR2,580 in the first time then SR800 in the second time.

It said Anzi went to the bank in the Northwestern town of Tabuk and told them that he had never been to New York.

“They asked him to provide them with his passport to prove he had not travelled there during that period….he said the bank promised to work to recover his funds.”
