20 hurt in two accidents in Dubai

Accidents involve eight cars

Twenty people were injured in two separate accidents involving eight cars on Dubai’s roads on Saturday and Sunday, the emirate’s traffic police chief has said.

Colonel Saif Al Mazroui said one accident took place on Sheikh Zayed Rd on Saturday morning after a car driven by a Serbian man made a sudden swerve on the road and banged into two other vehicles.

He told Emarat Alyoum daily the crash resulted in 14 injuries, including one serious and three medium injuries.

The other accident occurred on Dubai-Al Ain motorway on Sunday and involved five cars, including a cement van, which caught fire, Mazroui said, adding that six people were injured.
