Friends describe him as a hero
A Saudi civil defence man died while trying to rescue a dog which fell down into a deep water well in the Gulf Kingdom, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.
Sergeant Yehya Abu Jabal jumped into the well in the Southern Jazan province to catch the barking dog despite pleas by friends not to rush down and wait for ladder.
“He did not want to wait as he was worried about the dog…he jumped down although friends begged him not to…the jump killed him,” Sabq newspaper said.
“His friends and colleagues describe him as a hero because he sacrificed his life to save the life of a dog,”
