Abu Dhabi Airport going in for a major services revamp

ABU DHABI 10 June 2019: Abu Dhabi Airport has started on a journey to offer high-quality services to passengers covering various areas including customs declaration, baggage check-in and smart gates, among others.

The services overhaul will be led by five government entities which have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. They include:

  1. Abu Dhabi Airports
  2. Etihad Airways
  3. General Administration of Customs
  4. Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship
  5. Abu Dhabi Police

Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Department of Transport, said that it is crucial for the stakeholders to cooperate and coordinate together to reach the integration of services that will improve the development of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, said Wam.

Travel Experience

The signing is part of the efforts dedicated to enhance the travel experience and represent the cooperation and integration of services offered in all facilities at the airport. The memorandum aims to facilitate the travelling procedures and reduce the time required to complete travelling transactions.

The MoC, based on best international practices and aviation standards, will see the five bodies partner together to improve airport operations’ efficiency, utilising key performance indicators to measure development outcomes.
