Carriers must also pay for hotel and meals
Passengers flying aboard Saudia or other airlines in the Gulf kingdom can claim SR300 (Dh300) compensation for every one hour delay in the scheduled flight.
Sada newspaper said passengers who decided to wait for another flight after the cancellation of the original flight must also be paid a hotel room and meals or a maximum SR3,000.
It said world civil aviation rules also stipulate that airlines companies must inform passengers of the cancellation of the flight at least seven days before.
