DUBAI 29 April 2018: The General Department of Human Rights of Dubai Police has launched the ‘child police patrol’ initiative – special patrols carrying out liaison.

This initiative aims to remove the psychological barrier associated with police cars and create a positive impression on children.

The exterior of the patrol car has many different colours that attract children and ensure that they are at ease.

Inside, the car has facing seats which enhances direct contact with children while moving from one place to another. Additional items include pictures and famous cartoon characters and child entertainment devices like smart boards through which they can play recreational games and access messages.

The Child Police Patrol initiative is aimed at both families and students. It is part of Dubai Police’s strategic objective of reducing crime rates, and looks forward to providing a child-friendly security environment that supports urban police in dealing with children.

It promotes children’s confidence in the police.
