Saudi customs inspectors got a shock when they found that a car tank contained only liquor instead of petrol before discovering another reserve tank in the vehicle.
The inspectors searching the car on King Fahd Causeway linking the Gulf Kingdom with nearby Bahrain found nearly 81 liters of liquor inside the tank.
The Saudi daily Ajel said another tank contained petrol and was fixed by the driver as a “camouflage” to smuggle alcoholic drinks.
It quoted customs director Daifullah Al Otaibi as saying the driver was arrested and his car seized.
