City Centre hosts captivating entertainment and activities for the festival of lights

Lucky winners can take home 18 Carat Gold; Rangoli and henna design stand offering visitors intricate design applications

Majid Al Futtaim’s City Centre Al Shindagha is organizing a set of activities, entertainment and thrilling performances of movement and music, accompanied by an array of colourful decorations, for the festival of lights.
City Centre Al Shindagha invites communities, families and friends to come together and celebrate the occasion everyday from 4pm – 8pm, from October 23 until November 5, 2016.
“City Centre Al Shindagha is delighted to host an exciting array of vibrant entertainment and activities to mark the special occasion of the festival of lights in our mall,” said Hamad Al Lawati, Community Malls Manager for Majid Al Futtaim – Properties. “Committed to creating great moments for everyone, everyday, in line with Majid Al Futtaim’s vision, we welcome our communities living and working in the surrounding areas to enjoy a fortnight of unparalleled entertainment throughout the thrilling festival of lights.”
As the first day of Diwali is deemed a day of impending prosperity, many people buy or give away gold to loved ones. City Centre Al Shindagha offers shoppers the chance to take home 10 grams of 18 Carat gold through a daily draw starting on October 23. Shoppers who spend AED 150 at any of the mall’s outlets will have the opportunity to win the prize to mark the beginning of the Hindu year.
Complementing the festival, traditional activities such as henna art will be available at a stand, catering to ladies. The mall will be adorned with a blast of coloured Rangoli – traditional vibrant decorative powder – with special designs that represent Diwali.
Mall visitors can enjoy the compelling rangoli creations through spontaneous roaming entertainment everyday from 23 October until 5 November. A talented artist will also prepare a range of multicoloured patterns live, on 27 – 29 October and 3 – 5 November.
Children can exercise their creative energies by learning to make their own Rangoli designs, either by replicating existing patterns or creating an imaginative blend to add to the vast presentation, from 27 – 29 October and 3 – 5 November.
Families and friends can celebrate their day at the mall by dining and taking part in activities and entertainment as well as shop. The mall continues to cater to the needs of the community it serves, with a focus on affordable fashion for the entire family as well as value-centric electronics and homeware.
City Centre Al Shindagha offers a convenient and accessible retail experience to neighboring communities in the Al Shindagha area, meeting the growing demand for smaller lifestyle malls in Dubai that provide a tailor-made mix of retail options, international dining outlets and premium family entertainment.
At City Centre Deira, mall visitors will be treated to traditional Diwali roaming shows every day from 4pm – 8pm, starting on 30 October until 3 November.
Further spreading the spirit of the festival, the mall will give away special ‘diyas’ – clay oil lamps – commonly lit to decorate homes, creating warmth and light and marking the occasion for loved ones.
