DUBAI 9 June 2019: First Corporal Hanan Hussein Mohamed, who revived an unconscious pregnant woman and helped deliver her 6-month old premature child at Dubai International Airport, has been promoted to the rank of First Sergeant.

The paramedic P. Chacko, who responded to the emergency, has also been honored by General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander General of Dubai Police.

Al Marri ordered the promotion of Hanan, who works as an inspector with airport security department. “She responded with courage and natural instincts of motherhood to an abnormal birth situation of the pregnant Indian woman when she arrived at Dubai International Airport. She was provided help by paramedic Chacko.  The mother gave birth of an infant that was not over 6 months old, and they saved mother and child from a critical condition.”

The incident happened in April, when the Indian lady fell critically ill in the inspection area. Hanan rushed the passenger to the inspection room as, due to her critical health condition, it was hard to move her to the hospital. The mother and baby were both in a dangerous situation as the mother collapsed.

Hanan conducted CPR for the child and saved his life. Both she and Chacko continued to deal with the emergency situation, and to provide the necessary care for the mother and her child, until they were transferred to the hospital.
