While Hollywood stars such as Jennifer Lawrence, Angelina Jolie, Emma Thompson, Meryl Streep have voiced their anger against the disparity, there’s one actress who takes home more than leading male actors.
And if the ‘fact’ is revealed by none other than the Bollywood scion Amitabh Bachchan, then there’s no doubt or query further.
“Deepika Padukone was paid more than me for ‘Piku’ [their last film together],” he said.
Hopefully, Ms. Padukone sets the trend to her counterparts who continue to speak loud and clear about the misogyny in the entertainment industry.
According to a Forbes report, she is on the list of the world’s highest paid actresses in 2016.
