Delhi’s one of the global destinations to visit: TripAdvisor

DELHI 25 March 2018: New Delhi is now among the top destinations globally for 2018, according to TripAdvisor. New Delhi has been ranked 22nd in the world and 8th in Asia in the top destinations for 2018, in the Travellers’ Choice awards for Destinations by TripAdvisor.

It  has specially been cited for the city’s famous mouth-watering food, alluring Mughal minarets, magnificent and grand colonial-era buildings and flourishing culture.

55-year old held for molestation

He has been arrested for allegedly molesting a five-year old girl in Greater Noida, the police said. The accused, Navin Sharma, 55, is a farmer based in Khatana village. The victim’s parents in their complaint alleged that the accused lured the girl with a candy and molested her.

“We had received a complaint from the girl’s father. He said the incident happened around 4 p.m. when their daughter was playing in the village. Sharma, who knew the girl, lured her with a candy.” said Shalendra Pratap Singh,Station House Officer, Jarcha police station.

Here comes the Delhi Budget

Delhi Finance Minister Manish Sisodia on Thursday announced the Budget 2018-2019 for Delhi. Here’s what the top announcements included:
Rs, 1,000 crore for repairing small roads of the municipal corporations.
1000 electric buses for Delhi to be on roads by March 2019
200-250 cameras to be installed in each school
905 electric feeder buses for the Metro for last mile connectivity
All school teachers to get tablet computers to keep record of attendance
Rs. 6,729 crore has been allocated for the health sector
Rs. 1,500 crore allocated for infrastructural development in unauthorised colonies.
Let’s hope these allocations and plans are not just a shot in the dark, and effective implementation is carried responsibly at all levels.
