Dubai’s traffic court sentenced a 43-year-old Arab driver to one month in prison and ordered his driving licence suspended for three months after he jumped the red light and crashed into the city’s tram.
The court also fined the driver Dh3,000 after tram road cameras showed he jumped the red signal on one of the city’s roads.
The traffic police referred the driver to the court for punishment after the cameras presented evidence he violated the traffic rules and road safety, according to traffic police prosecutor Salah Al Falasi.
