Driver jumps red light in RAK… wife and baby killed

Driver and two other kids were injured

A 30-year-old Arab woman and her new born baby were killed after her husband jumped the red lights while on a ride in their car in Ras Al Khaimah.

The 36-year-old husband and two other children were injured in the accident that involved an Emirati driver who was caught off guard by that car inside the junction in Al Rams area in the northern emirate.

Police said the Arab driver, identified as MA, did not abide by traffic rules and ventured across the red light without considering other cars coming through the signal.

“A national driver who was coming that way hit that car as he could not avoid it…the Arab man’s wife and her baby died in the accident while the rest of the family were injured,” Albayan Arabic language daily said, quoting Colonel Salim Rabei, head of Al Rams police station.
