DHA adopts two smart techs to protect newborns

DUBAI 29 May 2017: The Dubai Health Authority (DHA), has begun implementing two state-of-the-art technologies with the aim of protecting newborns in Dubai and Latifa Hospital.

The first system seeks to protect newborns by technologically linking them with their mothers and the hospital, so that if someone attempts to move the baby without authorisation, the mother and hospital will be alerted, said Wam.

The second system is designed to monitor oxygen levels in a child’s blood and alert the mother and staff if it drops below normal.

Humaid Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board and Director-General of the DHA said that the authority proposes to enable hospitals, healthcare centers, and clinics to provide the best services with the latest smart technologies.

He made the statement at Latifa Hospital while attending the graduation ceremony of the second group of nurses from the hospital and from Dubai Hatta. He stressed the importance of constantly training health caregivers and specialists with the best skills in order to enable them to provide quality services that provide customer satisfaction.

He also said that mothers and childcare are pivotal targets of the authority’s 2016-2017 strategy. It plans to implement a number of programmes, with the goal of benefitting mothers and children in all DHA facilities.
