Eid Al Fitr: So, how many holidays do you get?

work resumes for private sector on tuesday

ABU DHABI 25 June 2017: Greetings to all on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr.

We have all [most of us] had Friday and Saturday off as usual – now how many more days of holidays can we look forward to for Eid?

If you are working for the Government of the UAE or any federal office, agency or authority – and/or if you are working for any of the government entities of any of the emirates – you are luckier. You get off till Tuesday, 27th June.

Private Sector

If you are working in the private sector, you have Sunday and Monday off. You’ll have to be back at work on Tuesday June 27th.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation declared the Eid Al Fitr holiday as an official paid holiday for all private sector employees in the UAE, and will take place on the first and second days of Shawwal in the Islamic year 1425.
