Rains: Dubai gets showers but Saudi shuts schools

DUBAI 26 February 2018: Rains came down in Dubai and more are expected, bringing some relief to residents in recent days of rising mercury.

However, things in Dubai were far more pleasant when compared wit neighbouring Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where shools shut down due to severe weather conditions.

Classes have been suspended in schools across in Riyadh and the provinces of Ramah, Thadig, Muzahmia, Hremala, Diraia and Dhrma, on Sunday, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The suspension was announced late Saturday due to severe weather conditions expected, including heavy rains and strong winds, and to ensure the safety of students, SPA added, said Wam.
