Residents: Do a silent prayer at 11:30 am tomorrow

UAE mourns  martyr Abdul Rahman Abdul Kareem

ABU DHABI 29 November 2017: The General Command of the UAE Armed Forces has mourned the death of martyr, First Warrant Officer Abdul Rahman Abdul Kareem Al Ahmed, who died due to a cardiac arrest while taking part in a military exercise in the UAE.

The General Command of the UAE Armed Forces extended its sincere condolences to the martyr’s family and prayed to Allah Almighty to bless his soul with mercy in paradise and to bestow patience and solace upon his family, said Wam.

Meanwhile, the Martyrs’ Families’ Affairs Office (MFAO) at the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Court has called on nationals and expatriates in the UAE to observe a moment of silence and prayer at 11:30 am local time on 30th November to honour UAE heroes and express solidarity with their families.

The MFAO asserted that participation in this gesture is open to all residents across the UAE.

It also called upon all local and federal entities, as well as diplomatic missions abroad, to observe the Commemoration Day ceremonies according to the Commemoration Day guidelines document issued by the MFAO, and lower the national flag at 8:00 am, before raising it again at 11:31 am, noting that employees and officials are not required to attend the above mentioned ceremony at the workplace.
