MINA 4 September 2017: Saudi Arabia on Sunday affirmed that it did not prevent Iranians or anyone else from performing their Haj rituals or visiting the Holy Land and Makkah.
”Iranians are Muslims, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is open to all Muslims to perform Hajj rituals,” Prince Khalid Al Faisal, Governor of Makkah Region and Chairman of the Central Haj Committee, emphasised during a press conference announcing the success of this year’s Haj season, said Wam.
”They all are invited, like other Muslims, to come to these places for Haj and visit Makkah and Madinah to perform their rituals. But we beg everybody to come for Haj and only worship because this is a land of worship. It is a land for all Muslims to perform their duties and rituals divinely ordained upon them by Allah Almighty,” he said, while speaking about the measures taken by the Kingdom for Iranian pilgrims and their call for the politicisation of Haj.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, he stressed that the Kingdom did not prevent Iranians or others, but ensured that visits were only for worship and not politics, because Haj is not for politics and there is no politicization of the Haj. The Kingdom rejects the use of this time or this place for something other than worship, he added.

Answering a question about some Iranian pilgrims attempting to raise sectarian and political slogans in the Grand Mosque, Prince Khalid Al Faisal said that the Kingdom does not allow such actions.
He stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia does not allow anyone to interfere in its internal affairs, and it does not interfere in the affairs of other countries in any way, but it provides pilgrims and visitors with all the possible assistance to meet their religious needs.
Asked about the assessment of the level of services offered during this year’s Haj, and the increase of pilgrims in the coming years, he said that the number of pilgrims rose by 30 per cent and, in the coming years, the Kingdom has a vision to upgrade the quality of services.

EARLIER STORY: Agents of terrorism have been trying to attack the holy sites without considering their sanctity, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud said during the annual reception at the Royal Court at Mina Palace on Saturday.
However, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with Allah’s help and in co-operation with the kingdom’s brothers and friends have achieved great successes in eradicating terrorism, and drying up its sources of funding firmly and persistently, he added.
The event was held for heads of state, Islamic dignitaries, guests of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, guests of the government bodies, and heads of delegations and pilgrim affairs offices, who performed the Haj rituals this year.
“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia represents the heart of the Muslim world. Therefore, it senses the hopes and pains of Muslims everywhere, strives to achieve unity, co-operation and solidarity in our Muslim world, and achieve security and peace in the whole world,” King Salman told the gathering of VIPs.
“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has utilised all its human and material resources to enable pilgrims to perform their Hajj easily. We are determined with Allah’s help to achieve the highest level of services for the Two Holy Mosques and the holy sites within an integrated system to facilitate Haj performance, and ensure the safety of the visitors to the Grand Holy Mosque and the Prophet’s Holy Mosque. We are realising in our works the gigantic efforts exerted by the kings of this blessed country, since the era of its founder late King Abdulaziz (May Allah bestow mercy upon his soul),” he stated.
