UAE Rulers condole Egypt on victims of train station fire

ABU DHABI 28 February 2019: President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has sent a cable of condolences to President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt on victims of Cairo train station fire at the Ramsis station in central Cairo.

Scores of people were killed and injured, said Wam.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, have also dispatched similar cables of condolences to the Egyptian President.

Independent sources estimate that at least 25 people have been killed and and 40 injured when a train crash ignited a huge fire at Egypt’s busiest train station.

Egypt’s Transport Minister, Hisham Arafat, is said to have resigned immediately taking responsibility for the tragic event.
