Two brothers caught with heroin in their tummy

DUBAI 9 April 2018: Dubai police arrested two Asian brothers who smuggled in heroin at Dubai International Airport last month.

According to Brigadier General Eid Mohammed Thani Hareb the arrest of the accused was based on a tip off that they were smuggling drugs under the pretext of bringing them for the purpose of promotion. A circular was issued to the border crossing guard which led to the arrest of the accused.


He explained that when they arrived at Dubai International Airport and were then taken to the General Directorate of Drug Control in Dubai Police and subjected to preliminary questioning in which they admitted that they swallowed a large number of heroin capsules. Investigations revealed that the brothers have already carried out several smuggling operations in this way.

The smugglers were taken to Rashid Hospital in Dubai and placed under guard until all capsules were removed. One of the brothers had 61 capsules with a total weight of 790 grams of heroin. The second had 47 capsules weighing 538 grams.

Brigadier General Eid Mohammed Thani Hareb thanked the anti-narcotics men and the various security agencies working at the airport for their cooperation to achieve security and safety for the UAE and it’s residents.
