The UAE will observe the Flag Day today [Thursday, November 3].
Flag Day is a national campaign launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, in November 2013 to commemorate the swearing in of the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan as President of the nation.
In a statement released on the occasion, Sheikha Lubna said, “It is a privilege to be celebrating Flag Day, a national campaign devoted to representing our strength, and expresses our dedication to the preservation of the union.” The minister added that the occasion is also a ‘sincere expression of love for the homeland and our gratitude and loyalty to the founders and rulers of our precious nation’, reported Wam.
