UAE ship attacked by missile from boat off Yemen

Command of Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen says

JEDDAH 17 June 2017: The Command of Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen announced on Wednesday that an Emirati ship was attacked upon its departure from the Yemeni port of al-Mokha by a guided missile fired by Houthi militias without causing damage to the ship, but a member of its crew was injured.

The Command confirmed in a statement that a thorough follow-up of the incident is underway and perpetrators are being tracked down, Saudi Press Agency reported.

The Command renewed its warning that al-Houthi militias’ continuing arms and ammunition smuggle activities into Yemeni territories affect the security of navigation in this vital part of the world.

The statement called on the international community to pressure the Houthi militias and ousted Saleh’s forces to observe United Nations Security Council Resolution No. 2216 to prevent these criminal practices.
