A Saudi court sided with a local wife seeking to split from her drug addict husband and agreed to divorce her despite the man’s objection.
The woman, in her 20, told court that her husband always takes drugs at home and tries to force her to join him but she refuses.
“She told the judge that her husband often beats her up because she refused to take drugs with him,” Sada daily said in a report from the Western Red Sea port of Jeddah.
“After receiving evidence that the husband is a drug addict and alcoholic, the judge agreed to divorce the woman from him.”
