DUBAI 31 March 2019: An Emirate airline A380 flight to Munich in Germany was reportedly struck by lightning, according to the aviation industry.

On March 25, 2019, an Emirates Airbus A380 was reportedly struck by multiple lightning as it was on approach to Munich International Airport in Germany. The aircraft remained in Germany for two days, returning to Dubai on March 27, 2019, said Aerotime News Hub.

Reports said despite multiple lightning strikes, the aircraft landed safely. However, the return flight to Dubai later that day was cancelled and the superjumbo remained in Germany until March 27, 2019.

A natural target for lightning bolts, every airplane is designed with conductive materials, which allow lightning to safely exit a plane, according to Smithsonian Channel which uploaded the below video on YouTube.
