Offered cash, car and Dh50,000 every month

DUBAI 24 March 2019: Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, has promoted police officer Mohammed Abdullah Bilal to the rank of corporal.

Bilal has also been presented with a gift and a certificate of appreciation for his good conduct, integrity, honesty and dedication.

Major General Al Marri said that the promotion of Corporal Mohammed Abdulla Mohammed Bilal, who works in the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation, came in recognition of his rejection of huge bribes by a gang of illegal liquor traders.

Bilal was offered an initial Dh30,000 and promised a car and a monthly payment of Dh50,000 — if he turned a blind eye to the illegal liquor trade in Dubai’s Muhaisinah area.

Instead, Bilal informed his supervisors and helped break up the racket.

Mohammed Bilal thanked Dubai Police for the honor and his promotion saying it not only thrilled him but also motivated him to work harder.

He stressed that the promotion is his badge of honor and an incentive for all his colleagues to provide more effort and dedication in their work.
