DUBAI 13 June 2017: A drunk jobless Indian allegedly hit a woman after groping her at her building stairwell, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
On March 23, EC, 25, Filipina, was climbing her building’s stairs when a man was coming down the stairs.
“He stood aside because the well was very narrow. While I was passing by him he groped my breast. I jumped at him and slapped his face… he hit me and pushed me to the stairs,” testified the victim.
She shouted and screamed for help… residents came out and caught the assailant until police arrived.
Police officer Ghanem Ahmad testified that the victim was crying badly when he arrived. He also testified that he could smell alcohol blowing from the accused.
The accused denied groping the victim against her will.
Rashid Hospital reported that the victim had bruises in her left hand and pain in her breast.
The court will give verdict on June 19.
