Emirates Post Group halts all postal services to Qatar

ABU DHABI 9 June 2017: Emirates Post Group has suspended postal services to Qatar from all of its postal offices in the UAE from 6th June, until further notice.

The EPG also advised all customers that apart from temporarily stopping the delivery of mail items to the State of Qatar, all as yet undelivered items will be returned with the corresponding postal fees according to procedures and regulations, said Wam.

Chad recalls ambassador from Doha for consultation

N’DJAMENA: The Republic of Chad has recalled its Ambassador to Qatar for consultation, according to a statement by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In a statement released on Thursday, the Chadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “The Chadian government calls on all concerned states to prioritise dialogue to solve this crisis and asks Qatar to respect its commitments by ceasing any attitude likely to harm the cohesion of states in the region and peace in the world.”

The UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt severed relations with Qatar on Monday. They were later joined by Yemen, the Libyan interim government, the Maldives, Mauritius, Mauritania and the Comoros. Jordan, Djibouti and Senegal also announced a reduction in its diplomatic representation with Qatar.
