A strange metal object believed to be part of a rocket fell in Saudi Arabia on Thursday night, triggering security alert in the area, newspapers reported on Sunday.
A large force of police, civil defence and arms experts rushed to the area just outside the Western town of Taif after receiving a report on the object.
Ajel daily said the object was taken by arms experts for examination, adding that it could be part of a rocket that exploded in the area.
“Authorities said they received phone calls from residents that they heard a loud explosion in that area,” it said.
