DUBAI 25 December 2019: A truck crash on the busy Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road in Dubai yesterday caused traffic chaos as all lanes on the crash side of the road were closed to clear up the debris.
The accident happened at 5:50 am.
Dubai Police yesterday tweeted: “#TrafficUpdate | #Accident on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road after the Global Village towards Sharjah, and before Dubai-Al Ain Road, is causing traffic delays.
“# Traffic accident disrupting traffic on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Street after the Global Village heading to Sharjah before the exit of Dubai Al Ain Street, please take caution.
The truck skidded and fell on to one side spilling its load of gravel on the road.
By late morning the truck was removed and the road was opened to traffic.
“Dubai Police thanks the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai and Dubai Municipality for their contribution in removing the deteriorated truck, removing sparse gravel, and opening all tracks..”
